Our Story

Jewelry that tells the richness of Andean culture and Peruvian art

The Story of HUALLPA

HUALLPA was born in 2015, driven by the vision of Rony Huallpa — one of three brothers from the Huallpa Sallo family.

The first pieces were crafted on a small improvised workbench in Unuraqui, Calca, Cusco, using alpaca metal — also known as German silver — alongside natural stones and sea shells, worked entirely by hand in the same distinctive style that defines the brand today.

In those early years, the family did not have the resources to work with real silver. We come from humble origins and grew up in conditions of extreme poverty. Every tool, every material, and every step forward was earned through constant effort and years of dedicated handcraft.

Shortly after, the workshop relocated to Lima, where a new chapter began alongside Cusqueño artisans who shared the same vision and passion for handmade work. By 2016, the team had grown to four people — and would eventually grow to more than 20. On September 1st, 2018, the company was formally registered as HUALLPA S.A.C.

From 2017 onward, after saving enough capital to purchase the first 400 grams of silver, the workshop began developing collections worked entirely in silver, natural stones, and Pacific sea shells — always maintaining the artisan and artistic focus that sets HUALLPA apart.

The road was not easy. The brand weathered multiple economic and commercial crises, including the collapse of the Argentine market, the COVID-19 pandemic, the global rise in metal prices, and the economic ripple effects of international conflicts.

Despite all of this, HUALLPA has successfully brought its pieces to different corners of the world — including countries across Europe, Latin America, the United States, and Asia.

From the very beginning, HUALLPA has worked primarily with artisans of provincial origin, valuing natural artistic talent above formal academic credentials. Many of the people who have been part of the workshop never had access to higher education — some did not even finish primary school — yet they found in art and handcraft a true opportunity for professional growth and dignity.

Today, HUALLPA continues to grow as a family business built on natural talent and learned experience, led by three brothers and a sister of the Huallpa Sallo family — keeping the essence of Peruvian craftsmanship alive and transforming it into contemporary jewelry with a unique identity.

Our Core Values

Honesty
We say what we are and we are what we say. We craft every piece ourselves, we use the materials we declare, and we meet the deadlines we agree on. The trust of our clients is the most valuable asset we have.

Commitment
From an improvised workbench in Cusco to a workshop in Lima with more than 20 people — every stage of our story is marked by the determination to keep moving forward no matter the obstacles. That same commitment goes into every piece we make.

Passion
We don't make jewelry because it's a business. We do it because we love what we do. The difference between an ordinary jewel and an extraordinary one lies in the passion the artisan puts into every detail — and that cannot be faked.

Inclusion
We believe talent has no diploma. At Huallpa we have opened doors to artisans of humble and provincial origin who found in art a real opportunity for professional growth and dignity. That defines who we are.

Identity
We are Peruvian and we carry that with pride. Our designs are not generic or interchangeable — they have a name, a history, and a meaning. The condor, the Chakana, the spondylus — every element tells a story worth preserving.

"We craft with honesty, we work with commitment, and we create with passion — because every jewel carries the soul of Peru."
